Associate's Degree in Ministry

Earn an associate's degree in Christian ministry (Salem or Mountain View, MO campuses)

Southwest Baptist University offers two associate's degrees in ministry on our campuses in Salem and Mountain View, MO. Courses are offered at convenient afternoon and evening times.

An associate's degree in ministry is a great fit for bi-vocational pastors seeking to increase their ministry training.

You may choose from an Associate of Arts in Ministry (includes a foreign language course requirement) or an Associate of Science in Ministry.

Associate of Arts in Ministry

Students pursuing the A.A. in Ministry must complete the following requirements:

  • General Education Requirements (42 hours)
  • Graduation Requirements — includes a foreign language (16-18 hours)
  • BIB 2093 Methods of Biblical Interpretation (3 hours)
  • CHR 2043 Introduction to Evangelism (3 hours)
  • CHR 3003 Introduction to Disciple-making (3 hours)
  • CHR 3013 Introduction to Preaching (3 hours)
  • Electives (4-6 hours)

Associate of Science in Ministry

Students pursuing the A.S. in Ministry must complete the following requirements:

  • General Education Requirements (42 hours)
  • Graduation Requirements (10 hours)
  • BIB 2093 Methods of Biblical Interpretation (3 hours)
  • CHR 2043 Introduction to Evangelism (3 hours)
  • CHR 3003 Introduction to Disciple-making (3 hours)
  • CHR 3013 Introduction to Preaching (3 hours)
  • Electives (12 hours)
